Employers now must complete a new I-9 Form for work eligibility

It's designed to keep illegal immigrants from using fake papers to work in our country.

Employers now have to use a new version of the I-9 form.

That's a form that helps verify an applicant's work eligibility.

It's not only updated, it's a lot shorter.

The more efficient version was created by federal officials to help combat illegal immigration.

"Number one, would be fraud there is a lot of people that come in to the country from wherever, and they don't have the documentation," Monica Perez, a Workforce Dev. Specialist, said.
