It's the biggest party night of the year.

Many of you will be popping off a bottle of champagne and saying hello to 2008, but before you drive home, make sure you didn't have too much too drink.

State troopers and police will be out in full force watching you.

The Federal Government predicts 180 people will lose thier lives to drunk driving this New Year's Eve.

Locally, law enforcement will be beefing up patrols making sure drinkers aren't making the roads dangerous to themselves or anyone else.

Troopers say it's very simple, if you drink and drive, you're going to jail.

"Cause there are going to be a lot more people out there celebrating the New Year that normally wouldn't be out on a weekend consuming alcohol or anything.  So we're going to make sure that those people get home safely and we want to make sure that those that are intoxicated, go to jail," Trooper John Barton, with the Texas Department of Public Safety, said.

If you do decide, you need a drink to ring in the new year, troopers are asking you to find a safe way home first.
