ODESSA- Roger Bueno was formally arraigned in Ector County, but back at home some of his friends in Andrews still stand behind the former football star.
"I don't believe it, I don't belive what they say," said Aida Lujan, a friend of Bueno's.
In April, immigration officials picked up Bueno, just days after his Senior Prom.
"As soon as I found out what they were prosecuting him for, I didn't believe it," said Lilivey Menchaca, who grew up across the street from Bueno, "He doesn't seem like that type of person at all."
Bueno faces two counts of aggravated sexual assault, and two counts of indecency with a child.
Despite the endorsement of his friends the family of the victim issued this statement:
"We are appalled that the community would band together to support a person who has caused so much pain and anguish... This particular crime is most heinous, because it hurts the victim and their family on a daily basis..."
