More than a half a ton of marijuana off the streets after a drug bust late Sunday night in Ector County.

It happened Sunday night around 11:15 at Interstate 20 and West Loop 338 when deputies say they pulled over a pick-up truck driven by 22-year old Luis Alberto Garcia.

After getting permission to search the truck, we're told they found almost 12-hundred pounds of pot.

Street value for all that marijuana, more than half a million dollars.

Garcia, who is from Dumas, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana.

He remains behind bars in the Ector County Detention Center, and is being held without bond.
