After months of hard work, 11 new police officers are ready to hit the streets.

Graduation ceremonies for the 79th Permian Basin Law Enforcement Academy were held Friday afternoon in the Midland Center.

Nine of the graduates will be hitting the beat in Midland, one is from Lamesa, and one from Snyder.

These new officers will now be assigned to an experienced officer who will complete their training.

Midland's graduating class this time was almost twice the normal size.

They usually graduate five per session.
