A final farewell for a former Andrews Sheriff.
Funeral services have been set for Wayne Farmer.
It takes place Saturday (12-15) afternoon at two.
The service will be held in the Andrews Central Auditorium on the corner of "D" and 3rd Street.
They needed a larger building, because so many people wanted to honor the local hero.
Farmer passed away Wednesday after a battle with cancer.
He started working for the Andrews County Sheriff's Office in 1966, and served as Sheriff for 20 years.
He was active in the Salvation Army and the First Baptist Church.
He's survived by a daughter and son, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
