Andrews County says goodbye to former Sheriff

Andrews County says goodbye to a long time resident and former Sheriff.

A memorial service was held on Thursday for Wayne Farmer.

The 68 year old died after a long battle with cancer.

Farmer was involved in law enforcement in Andrews County for more than five decades.

He started working with the Andrews County Sheriff's Office in 1966.

Farmer served as Sheriff for 20 years, and was President of the Sheriff's Association of Texas in 1988-1989.

Up until his death he was a Reserve Deputy.

Farmer is survived by his two children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
