Temperatures have been cooler in our area, but some junior high parents are heated up because of varying Junior High School coat rules.

According to the student handbook, coats are to be left inside the student's locker when they are inside the school.

Some parents say their kids aren't allowed to wear their coats outside during lunch.

NewsWest 9 called those schools and they say they do have that option, but E.C.I.S.D. Spokesperson Mike Adkins did say that the Principals have some leeway as to how they want to run their campus.

"The procedure that is at each campus is probably up to the principal how they want to handle that specifically as far as what exactly do you do with your jacket the minute that you walk in," Mike Adkins, Spokesperson with E.C.I.S.D., said.
