Lightning is getting the blame for setting a Midland family's home on fire during Monday night's big storms.

It happened Tuesday morning around three on Island drive.

By the time fire fighters arrived, everyone had made it out okay, but three cats had to be rescued.

Fire officials say the blaze was contained to the garage area.

It took six crews nearly an hour to put the fire completely out.
