All this week, Midland Memorial Hospital is having their fourth annual Christmas Reindeer Silent Auction.

The auction benifits the Catastrophic Assistance Fund.

That fund was developed to help hospital employees who encounter traumatic circumstances.

Several departments in the hospital have decorated a reindeer gift basket filled with goodies that will be auctioned off.

"Since this program actually went into effect in June of 2004 the catastrophic fund has actually been able to help 68 employees for almost $29,000 dollars," Rev. David Harwood, Director of Chapel Services, said.

The baskets will be displayed on the main campus on the second floor on Thursday (12-6) and the bidding will end at three p-m Friday (12-7).
