A suspected bank robber on the run from the law turns himself in to Odessa Police.

In fact, he walked right into the police department and surrendered.

Police had been looking for him for almost a year.

Investigators say he is one of two men who knocked off the Chase Bank in Odessa back in January.

The second man, 56 year old Juan Ramon Ferrel surrendered to the F-B-I in El Paso in March.

Investigators say he had been on the run in Mexico, when he finally gave up.

The suspects target was the Chase Bank on West County Road on January 31st.

Police say the two knocked off the bank using a fake bomb.

No one was hurt in the heist.

Both were able to get away with some cash, but there's no word on how much they took off with.

Barrera and Ferrel both face bank robbery charges.

Barrera was taken to the Ector County Detention Center, where he'll be held until he's transferred to the U.S. Marshal's Office in Midland.
