Odessa Police and F-B-I say they now have the suspect in custody. Officials say 31 year-old Jerry Gasca, was caught overnight.
Odessa Police got a tip that a man matching the suspect's description was seen at a home on the 15-hundred block of north Tom Green, and that's where they made the arrest.
Special agents from the Midland Office of the F-B-I interviewed Gasca, and searched the home where he was caught. That's where they found evidence as well as cash from the bank robbery.
Gasca is awaiting formal charges at the Midland County Jail.
This all started Monday afternoon at the Southwest Bank on 8th and Alleghaney.
Authorities say Gasca was very calm when he entered the bank. He allegedly handed the teller a note which read "this is a robbery, give me your 20's, 50's, and 100's."
The teller hit the silent alarm just after handing over the undisclosed amount of cash. Gasca escaped in a car heading north on Alleghaney. Crime scene detectives and F-B-I agents collected fingerprints and interviewed several witnesses inside the bank.
No word if there were if any customers inside at the time.
Authorities say he never showed a weapon, and the tellers did exactly what he asked.
