A Midland woman remains at Midland Memorial Hospital in critical condition after she was hit by a car almost a month ago.
The accident happened on October 26 about three in the morning.
According to police, 19-year old Rita Mathis was walking on Wadley near the outer edge of traffic, when 30 year old Craig McNeese hit her with his car.
Investigators say McNeese initially fled the scene, but turned around and found Mathis in a grassy area, and called emergency personnel.
Police don't believe McNeese caused the accident, but they did arrest him on charges of drunk driving.
A benefit fund account has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank to help with Mathis' medical costs.
