You could face a hefty fine if you burn any trash outdoors for the next 90 days.

Midland County Commissioners and several other area counties are asking folks to refrain from starting any fires outdoors because of the recent dry spell.

There have been numerous grass fires, including the fire on Thursday off of Highway 1788.

The ban does not affect any holiday fireworks, or any type of welding activities.

Officials in judge Mike Bradford's office says violators could face fines of up to 500 dollars.

Ector County Commissioners will discuss a similar ban at their Commissioner's Court meeting on the 19th.
