An accident involving two cars and a school bus sends two children to the hospital Thursday evening.

Just after 5-30, an Odessa school bus was hit by a  truck near the intersection of 7th street and West County Road.

Officers say it started when a truck, which was in a turning lane, hit an SUV.

The school bus driver saw the crash and stopped, but officers say the truck kept going, plowing right into the school bus.

There were 22 Blackshear Elementary students on the bus, two received minor injuries.

"Several other kids who's parents picked them up and said they were going to take them to the hospital to be checked out.  We know the driver of the truck was in more serious condition, he was transported to the hospital," E.C.I.S.D. Spokesman Mike Adkins said.

Officers were waiting to speak to the driver of the truck before giving out any tickets.
