Convenience store clerk killed during robbery in Lovington, NM

A convenience store clerk is dead and three people are behind bars after a robbery in New Mexico.  

It happened Monday night at the Allsups in Lovington.

One of the suspects, 20 year old Jonathan Silva is being charged as an accessory in the crime.

16 year old Josh Gutierrez and 15 year old Israel Marquez are facing several charges, including murder and armed robbery.  

According to police the two teens shot 53-year old Virginia Land as she tried to open the cash register.  

After the boys couldn't get the register open, they ran off on foot.  

Land was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.  

All three suspects remain in jail.  Silva's bond has been set at one million dollars.   Bond for Guitierrez and Marquez has not been set.
