Odessa teen behind bars after fight with a student and principal

An Odessa teen is behind bars on charges of attacking a student and an assistant principal at Odessa High School.

17- year old Mark Anthony Gomez is facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, and class a assault in connection with the attack Monday morning.

According to district police, this is the result of an ongoing dispute with the student.

Officers tell us Gomez ran his car into the student's car, then attacked the student.

When the assistant principal tried to stop the fight, Gomez turned on the him.

We're told Gomez is not a student at OHS, he remains at the Ector County Detention Center.

No bond has been set.
