With cooler weather and the holiday season just around the corner, a local group is kicking things up a notch.
Midland's Habitat for Humanity is entering what they call a build blitz.
On Saturday, they paired up with Midland Memorial Hospital to build homes for low income families.
"Just to help with painting and insolation, and roofing and putting up porches, I've done stuff today that I didn't think I could do, but thankfully someone from the Habitat for Humanity office is telling us what we need to do and how to do it, and they're with us every step of the way so it's been great," Marcy Madrid with Midland Memorial Hospital said.
Every year at this time, they try to crank out more houses to get families home for the holidays.
