Kids in Odessa put on their Halloween costumes, and went door to door to get all that candy. But another group of kids spent their Halloween indoors with a little bit of bowling. And some said it's a good alternative to traditional trick or treating.
The Bowling for Kids Halloween Bash was put on tonight by a number of different sponsors all benefiting the Odessa Police Athletic League. And for them, it's just another way to have fun on Halloween.
They came out to bowl, have some fun, and win a few prizes.
"I want to win the IPOD Shuffle," said one child.
Wednesday's Halloween bowling for families and children at Diamond Lanes were supervised by Odessa Police. And they said it's important to provide a safe environment.
"It just makes the public feel we think better knowing that police officers are supervising the kids here," said Corporal Jon Foust, with the Odessa Police Department.
And parents said family friendly events are always a plus.
"I think it's good that they spend time with their kids and do things as a family, and I think that's really important," said Sandy Smith, an Odessa parent.
