Odessa Police want everyone to have a pleasant and safe Halloween, so they have some safety tips they want you to know about.

The first thing O.P.D. says you need to know is to keep the trick or treating within your neighborhood or to a friends house, then give your child a flashlight so they can see and be seen.

If you don't think the flashlight is enough, apply reflective tape onto them or on their goodie bag.

After all the fun is over, make sure to inspect all the candy your child recieves and check all fruit too.

If you do find anything in the candy or your child becomes unusually sick, call poison control at 1-800-222-1222.
