Would your child talk to a stranger?

You might be surprised.

Midland police say, many times they do.

That's why the department has a program called "Stranger Danger."

It's designed to teach children one very important fact, if you don't know or recognize someone, they are a stranger, so stay away.

Officers go into to schools teaching these safety lessons, but they say parents play a key role in educating their kids about talking to people they don't know.

If you would like to learn more and take part in the program, contact the Midland Crime Prevention Unit at  685-7582.
