A blinding sandstorm led to a fatal pileup Tuesday on a California highway.

Two people were killed and 25 others injured when the sudden sandstorm blew across a highway just north of Los Angeles.

Two of the injured are in critical condition.

Weather experts say wind speeds reached 55 miles per hour in the high desert area during the storm.
