Peeping Tom killed after high speed chase

A man who peeped into a teenager's window was killed during a chase early Tuesday, said officials in Pasadena, Texas.
Police said the teen's mother called them after she caught the man looking into her 14-year-old daughter's window at their home shortly after midnight.

"It was her understanding that there was a high probability that the suspect had met her daughter online," Capt. Bud Corbett said.

Police have not said where online the man and teen may have met.

The mother positively identified the man, and the car he was driving, investigators said.

Police said they arrived at the home and found the man, who took off, and led them on a short pursuit.

Detectives said the man was driving up to 80 mph when he crashed his car, wrapping it around a tree along the side of the road.

"The suspect was traveling at a speed that resulted in the vehicle going airborne," Corbett said. "It was about a 300-foot skid and the suspect collided with a tree and apparently was dead at the scene."

The man's name has not been released. Officials said he was in his 20s or 30s.
