It was initially known as No Holds Barred Fighting, but the Ultimate Fighting Championship has quickly become one of america's favorite sports.

And this past weekend, U-F-C fighters invaded The Gym in Odessa.

All to show off some of the differente techniques this sport uses.

From boxing, to submision techniques, to a variety of martial art training.

Students of the gym  had the opportunity to work out with some of the most qualified fighters in the UFC.

And for people like Kevin Chance, an Odessa Police Officer, these skills can definitely come in handy.

"So where fire-arms trainings and things like that are very important this is something that is equally important because statistically you are more likely to be injured from an empty handed attack than anything else," Chance said.

Some of the students that took part in the U-F-C training this past weekend will get the chance to put the skills they learned to the test on October 13, when their next fight is scheduled in Hobbs, New Mexico.
