ODESSA- Flowers placed at the foot of a tree at the Odessa Police Department, were drenched by a heavy down pour, as Corporals Arlie Jones and Scott Gardner were honored in thoughts and prayers, Monday night.

"They got up that morning thinking it was going to be a great day. Saturday, it ended in tragedy for all of them," said Tina Gregg, a court reporter in Odessa, "You don't realize but they do put their life on the line everyday."

"These men were heros. They devoted a lot of time and emotion to answer domestic violence calls," said Joel Munoz, of the Odessa Crisis Center.

Nearly fifty people huddled near the front door of the police department, at a vigil hosted by the Odessa Crisis Center. They honored Corporals Arlie Jones and Scott Gardner killed in the line of duty, Saturday. The group also prayed for the recovery of Corporal Abel Marquez, in critical condition in a Lubbock Hospital, after Saturday's shooting.

"They're Good Men, they're all family. It's an honor to be a part of that family," said Diane Vaught, a former Odessa police department dispatcher.

"You never think that this could happen," said Lt. A.Fuentes, "I am very proud of my guys everybody that helped are heros in my eyes."
