The race is on for the Next State Representative for District 81, and Randy Rives says he can be a real asset to West Texas.
The Ector County School Board member rallied support for his candidacy Saturday, just outside of the Permian Basin Fair.
Before coming back to Odessa, he traveled to Kermit and Andrews, and he says talking to West Texans is something he really likes.
"We love this part of the state. I grew up in McCamey, I lived in Odessa for 37 years, so I'm a West Texas boy so I wanna make sure that I lend myself to making sure that West Texas is productive for years to come," Rives said.
In addition, Rives mentioned how important issues like education and the local economy are to him.
