A suspected serial rapist caught in Midland after investigators get a tip.
U.S. Marshals and Midland Police arrested this man 47 year old Jose Luis Lopez just after seven Thursday evening.
An officer received a tip he was staying at the Economy Inn on west Wall.
Authorities found out he had registered under his name.
The SWAT team broke into his room, and found Lopez locked inside the bathroom.
He was arrested without a problem.
Lopez is a suspect in two rapes in Lubbock, and possibly two in Midland.
He disappeared from Lubbock two weeks ago when authorities there had a warrant to get a sample of his DNA.
Midland Police are now waiting on DNA lab tests to see if Lopez was involved in two Midland rapes back in 1993 and 1994.
