New information on a murder in Jal, New Mexico.

New Mexico State Police say the victim was beaten to death.

According to investigators, family members discovered the body of 29 year old Jason Ferguson at his home.

Authorities believe Ferguson had been dead for about two days

Jal Police notified state police about the killing last Thursday night.

Still no word on exactly when Ferguson was murdered.

State police investigators say they are following several leads in the case.

Ferguson is the son of Jal Superintendent Rick Ferguson.
