SANTA FE (AP) - Another group of New Mexico National Guard members is headed for Iraq.

Some 130 members of C Company, 2nd Battalion, 200th Infantry left Friday from Fort Dix, New Jersey.

National Guard Major Kenneth Nava says they're being sent to Kuwait and then to Iraq, where they'll be stationed for about a year.

The National Guard says it's the first Iraqi deployment for C Company, although some individual soldiers in the company have been to Iraq before.

The company is based in Las Cruces and most of its soldiers are from southern New Mexico.
