Ector County taxpayers will get a break on their taxes for the upcoming school year.
The Ector County School Board approved the new tax rate for the 2007-2008 school year, which means the average homeowner will save about 35 dollars on their tax bill.
District Officials say this is the fourth straight year for a tax break.
They'll take in about 85 million dollars.
The final rate comes out to one dollar 11 cents, per 100 dollar evaluation.
Officials also reported a better tax collection rate, because of the area's booming economy.
Another boost to homeowners is the new cap on home appraisals across the State.
