Hobbs, New Mexico Police Chief retiring

The Hobbs Police Chief is retiring.

After 20 years with the Hobbs Police Deparment, Chief Johnny Gonzales is turning in his badge.

Gonzales will be leaving the force after two decades of service.

The Hobbs City Manager will decide who will be Interim Chief by the end of next week.

Gonzales was named Police Chief in april of 2006, beating out 50 other candidates for the job.
