An investigation is underway after a fight breaks out between Midland High cheerleaders and a cheer squad from Dallas.

It happened this past weekend at a cheerleader camp at Texas State University in San Marcos.

A university spokesperson says,  at one point during the camp, girls from both squads exchanged words.

It all came to a head yesterday, when the girls were checking out of the Blanco Residence Hall.

Officials say that's when the girls from Skyline High School paid the Midland girls a visit, and started a pushing and shoving match.

Campus police arrived within minutes, but the fight had already been broken up.

According to reports, 22 girls from Skyline and 11 from Midland High were involved in the brawl, no one was seriously hurt.

Investigators are still questioning everyone involved.

Once their report is complete, charges could be filed.

Newswest 9 spoke with the Midland School District today. They are waiting for campus police to finish their investigation, before taking any action which should be in the next three or four days.
