Midland City Council members will meet this morning to talk about outgoing City Manager Rick Menchaca.
Last Monday, the Council voted to take a nearly half a million dollar parting deal off the table.
The decision was made as the deadline for Menchaca to sign the dotted line was just days away.
Several midlanders complained about the high price tag.
Taxpayers would have ultimately handed over the cash.
The City Council says they pulled the deal off the table after receiving a letter from Menchaca's attorney asking them to further clarify certain sections of the contract.
Menchaca recently left his position amidst controversy involving a Midland Police Association.
City Council will meet starting at nine this morning to decide on the next step they are going to take.
