Closing arguments begin today in the trial of a former Midland teacher accused of having inappropriate relationship with a student.
On Friday, the alleged victim testified after several witnesses and David Van Houten himself took the stand for four hours.
Nearly three dozen people packed Judge Darr's courtroom Friday as the alleged victim disclosed graphic details of several sexual encounters between her and Van Houten.
The former teacher testified and denied having sexual intercourse with the student or romantically kissing her.
Van Houten has pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child and two counts of improper relationship between an educator and student.
He was arrested in November after allegations about he and a female student were brought to attention of the school board at Midland Academy Charter School, where he was later dismissed.
NewsWest Nine will continue to follow this trial.
