MIDLAND- A Midland couple is still recovering tonight after flying off their motorcycle, when they collided with a pedestrian who was running from a fight. Marty and Venita Hammond were traveling eastbound on Illinois Ave. Saturday afternoon when two men darted into traffic and caused the accident.

"As soon as she fell off the motorcycle she started bleeding," said Mindy Cruz, a relative of one man Police say is connected in the fight.

"The girl never moved, she was just flat out, turned over on her face in the road right there," said Martha McTeer who lives across the street from where the accident happened. "The guy had a gash on his head and he moved over and was holding onto her."

What was once between two men, spilled out into the street causing the accident. Police say they are considering charging the men with reckless endangerment, but no charges have been filed.

"They were darting in and out it, was crazy all over nothing. I don't know why he was trying to beat him up but why didn't they stay in the yard and fight?" said McTeer, "It's just senseless."
