Abilene man gets 25 years for burning girlfriend

ABILENE, Texas (AP) - A judge in Abilene has ordered 25 years in prison for a man convicted of starting his girlfriend on fire.

Geena McClendon of Abilene suffered second and third degree burns in the February 2005 attack involving gasoline dumped on her and set ablaze.

Shannon Lopez earlier this year was convicted of attempted murder.

Lopez was sentenced on Friday.
