CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the Congresswoman has repeatedly said her focus is on ending the war in Iraq.
That in response to Cindy Sheehan's news today that she plans to run against Pelosi unless Pelosi moves to oust President Bush in the next two weeks. Sheehan told The Associated Press today in Crawford that she will run if Pelosi doesn't file articles of impeachment against Bush by July 23rd.
Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said in an e-mail to the A-P that Pelosi believes the best way to support troops in Iraq is to bring them home safely and soon. He says there will be a vote in July to redeploy troops by spring.
Sheehan galvanized the anti-war movement after her son Casey's death.
