It's an accident police believe could have been prevented.

Police say the man killed, drove right under the crossing arms.

The accident happened at the train tracks on Birdwell and I-20.

The victim has been identified as 54 year old Roland Glenn Cate.

Authorities say the crossing arms were down, when Cate drove underneath them.

They say he somehow bumped the arm up it lifted and that's when the train slammed right into the side of his truck.

Cate and his truck were carried about a mile down the tracks.
