Truck Hit by a Train in Big Spring, kills Big Spring Man

UPDATE: The occupant within the Red Ford F-350 PK at the time of the crash was identified as Cate, Roland Glenn, 54 years of age.  Cate secombed to his injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead at 8:13 P.M. on the 4th of July 2007 at University Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.  This information from the Big Spring Police Department.

A man is in critical condition Wednesday night after getting hit by a train in Big Spring.

It happened around 6pm Wednesday evening when a man in a Ford Pickup was hit and dragged about a mile east of a railroad crossing on Birdwell. Big Spring officials say the man was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

NewsWest 9 found railroad crossing arms not damaged. No fire or burning appears to have happened.

The Victim's name is not being released, pending notification of family members. It appears as if that man was the only one in the truck during the accident.
