The City of Midland stepping up recruitment efforts

The City of Midland is now stepping up their recruitment strategy to try and hire more police officers.

They're putting up a billboard in the Lubbock area in hopes of attracting more applicants.

The city is also putting up information posters throughout campus and businesses, also in the Lubbock area.

They're also in the process of creating a recruiting video.

The Midland Police Department is currently trying to fill more than a dozen positions.

    Juvier H. Santurinio, 58, of Miami, FL was pronounced dead after his semi-truck rolled over Wednesday. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Santurinio was driving West on Interstate Highway 20 when the truck left the road. After attempting to return to the road, the truck rolled over.
