Jury selection begins in the trial of former Lee Basketball Coach Dan Simmons

Jury selection has begun for the trial of a former Midland Lee Girl's Basketball coach accused having sexual contact with a player.

The case is in Judge George Gilles courtroom.

Simmons is accused of touching a Lee player improperly and forcing her to touch him back.

The incident allgedly happened in November of 2002.

The 47 year old also stands accused of two similar cases, one in Lubbock and another in Albuquerque.

The Assistant D-A in Midland says simmons was offered a plea bargain, but refused the deal.

If convicted, Simmons could spend up to 60 years behind bars.
