For the third straight year, Midland County gets a failing grade on its jail.

But Sheriff Gary Painter says the facility is not in danger of shutting down.

The state found two problems with fire safety equipment and water pressure.

Officials say both issues should be fixed within two months.

The County is also looking at buying a water softening system to improve the water pressure.

Meanwhile, officials say jail overcrowding continues to be a problem.
