Howard County Commissioners are now focusing on two locations to build a new jail.

That word from Monday's commissioners meeting.

On Monday afternoon, city leaders visited one of the sites.

This one is off west Highway 80 in Big Spring.

Commissioners are speaking with homeowners there to get their reaction.

"We're going out here, trying to visit with them one on one, get their concerns, talk to them, try to answer some questions they might have, if we can," Says Mark Barr, Howard County Judge.

Commissioners have been trying to build a new jail since last year.

Even though voters turned down a 10 million dollar new jail proposal in November.
