Rabies test on Ft. Stockton girl attacked by rottweiler negative

Some great news for a Fort Stockton child attacked last week by a rottweiler.

Pecos County Sheriff Cliff Harris tells NewsWest Nine, the rabies test on the dog has come back negative.

Authorities had to put down the dog last week, after it attacked 12 year old Carla Subia in her yard.

The dog bit her in the thigh, stomach, and arm.

The dog had escaped from a neighbors yard, and the girl was taking care of it, until the owner could be found.

Authorities say rabies can be fatal, if you don't get shots in time.
