Midland, Texas- Heavy handed clouds rolled overhead as reports of a tornado touching down on the border of Ector and Winkler Counties poured in over dispatch. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area until 5:45pm.

"It doesn't feel like it's June at all and the weather has been really odd," said Resident Brian Bedwell.

The storm caused delays at Midland International Airport, some waited hours.

"We just got here and we found out, it was delayed, so we will be waiting a while I guess," said Karen Fisher.

Shane Degnam waited almost four hours but he says the flight was worse than the wait.

"It was pretty rough up in the sky a lot of turbulence an a lot of wind and lightening so it kind of took your breath away," said Degnam.

Sunday's storm put the Basin over almost seven inches for the entire year.
