A Fort Stockton girl attacked by a rottweiler is recovering at home.

Carla Subia suffered bites to her thigh and stomach and had a broken bone in her right arm.

The dog belonged to a neighbor, but it had reportedly escaped from the owner's yard several days ago, and Subia was keeping it in her yard.

The 12 year old had to be airlifted to Medical Center Hospital Wednesday.

She was released Thursday afternoon.

The rottweiler has been put to sleep.

An account has just been set up to help the girl's family with medical expenses.

Donations will be accepted at Pecos County State Bank in Fort Stockton.

Their number is 432-336-3331.
