ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa City Council held a public hearing during their Tuesday meeting about the possibility of annexing Ponderosa Estates.
The estates are along 56th St., a two-lane road between Faudree and Loop 338, and residents are fed up with the speeding.
Neighbors of the community expressed their concerns about the safety of their children playing outside.
The road in front of their homes divides the city of Odessa and Ector County, and borders three jurisdictions, the city, the county, and the state.
This separation makes it difficult to make a complaint to local government.
The city is considering annexing the area to help with the problem but requires two hearings plus 30-days before any changes could be made.
The city council didn't take any action during Tuesday's hearing.
