MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland Lee Rebels picked up their second win of the season and it was a big one. The Rebels beat El Paso Montwood on the road 42-6. In the Rebels victory over Montwood, they had five different skill position players score touchdowns. To head coach Clint Hartman that shows they have depth on offense and can trust in each guy to make a play.
"Sheldon Bass had a touchdown, Loic Fouonji had a touchdown, Logan Acosta had a touchdown, Shemar Davis had his first touchdown as a varsity player and actually that play was suppose to go to Josh, but Josh said you need to score young buck. I thought that was a pretty cool deal between the older guy and the younger guy. Later on you find out that Josh scored his first touchdown in that stadium so it was pretty cool. I was pretty happy and proud of that," said Hartman.
Lee will return home this week as they take on El Paso Eastwood in their homecoming game. Also, the 1998 Rebels Championship team will be recognized 20 years after Lee's first State Championship. That game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Grande Communications Stadium.
