MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A private tutor of Lee High School band students has been arrested due to allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.
According to Bexar County records, the tutor's name is Nicholas Conn.
The tutor was not an employee of the district but was previously employed at UTPB and Odessa College. Both schools have stated that he was an employee with them but was relieved of adjunct teaching duties following notice of the investigation.
According to a notice sent out by Lee Principal VanHoozer, another student alerted the administration after hearing something concerning the relationship.
Midland ISD police investigated the incident before arresting the suspect. The City of Midland Police Department and U.S. Marshals also reportedly collaborated with MISD police to make the arrest.

The tutor was arrested Thursday afternoon by the local marshals office in San Antonio. MISD police issued the warrant but the subject was not in the area, so the warrant was handed over to the marshals office. He has since been booked in the Bexar County Jail.
"We commend our students who brought this to our attention, and as always we strongly encourage our students to say something anytime they recognize something suspicious or concerning," said Principal VanHoozer in the release.
UTPB has issued a statement concering Conn's employment with the university:
