LEA COUNTY, NM (KWES) - One man is dead following a one-vehicle crash in Lea County.
New Mexico State Police are investigating the crash, which occurred around 5 p.m. on September 12.
Investigation has revealed that a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse had been traveling east on SR 529 recklessly and at an excessive rate of speed when it left the road. The Eclipse then reportedly began to roll.
Christopher Michael Clayburn, 43, was the driver of the vehicle and was ejected when the car rolled. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers say alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash and the driver was not wearing his seat belt. No other injuries occurred and the crash is still under investigation.
